The Timeline of a Shoot

How to book and what to expect
To book in for a FREE consultation and discuss what I can offer you, all you need to do is fill out the contact form below to get the ball rolling!
Once I've received your query, I will reach out to you directly to discuss the type of photographs you would like to capture, the kind of artwork you may wish to have created, and, any concerns you may have about the session. If you're happy to go ahead, we can book you in for the most convenient date and time right then and there.
To secure your booking I will require a £25.00 non refundable deposit that is subtracted from your total session fee, the remainder is to be paid no later than 72 hours before the date of your photoshoot.

One week until session...


In the week leading up to your photoshoot you will receive a digital Pre-Shoot Guidebook that will talk you through any preparation that you may wish to make. This includes what to bring to your session, along with confirmation of the agreed location, a time/place to meet and the estimated duration for the shoot.

Three days until session


You will receive a reminder e-mail prompting you to raise any concerns or questions you may still have, along with a reminder for any outstanding payments.
This e-mail will contain additional confirmation that the weather is sufficient to proceed with the photoshoot. If we need to re-schedule for a different date due to poor weather or ill health then your deposit will still hold for up to 72 hours before your new date.

The day of the session

We will meet at the agreed time and place where I will introduce myself to you and your pet or equine. Before we set off we will run through a checklist to make sure we've got everything we need, this checklist will be included in the Pre-Shoot Guidebook you receive in the week leading up to the session. Here we will also take a few "test" shots of your furry friend to help them feel comfortable with the camera making noises.

Once everybody is comfortable and ready we will begin with some posed portraits and head shots before your pup or pony gets too mucky. If we are photographing a dog and you would like to remove your pet's leash at any time you are more than welcome to do so, however, I would advise that while we are actively taking photographs they remain on their leash unless they have exceptional obedience. This will help ensure we have the most amount of control over posing, especially with so many pretty sights and smells around!

Please note that if your pet or equine is visibly uncomfortable during the session, the shoot times are kept fairly flexible to accommodate those who may need to wrap up sooner or may take a little longer to settle down.

I will sometimes share my favourite images from our session on my social media, you are welcome to share these images but please do not crop or edit out any watermarks that may be visible. You will have the option during the pre-shoot consultation to let me know if you would prefer I do NOT share photos from your session.

FAQs and Extra information
How long do event photos take to be uploaded?
While I will try my best to have photos from horse or dog events uploaded within 24 hours, please allow for up to 72 hours for them to be live.
How should I prepare for my session?
After a date for your session has been chosen and confirmed you will receive a digital photoshoot guidebook which will talk you through the best way to prepare yourself (and your companion!) for your photoshoot. Within this guidebook you will also find details of available products and how to order them once your session has been completed.
Cancellation Policy
A £60.00 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. This deposit will be subtracted from your final total.
If you need to cancel for any reason, please ensure you provide atleast 72 hours notice for your deposit to hold while we re-book your session.
Privacy Policy
No photographs are stored on my camera and they are immediately removed from the device as soon as they have been imported.
Photographs are stored on a password protected hard drive where they are destroyed after 18 months unless agreed otherwise. This can be extended with your written consent.
All images are considered the intellectual property of Amy G Photography unless licensing rights have been purchased.
Under GDPR, you have the right to withdraw your consent to me having your photographs at any time. As photographs are considered personal data you will also have the right to erasure. These rights and your consent will be discussed during your pre-shoot consultation.
What is a session fee?
Private shoots are charged with a flat fee to cover any discussions and planning, the actual photoshoot itself and the post-production work.
